Inspirational Readings from the First Century of the Christian Science Movement Background information is on this page. What you have below are selected addresses by authorized teachers of Christian Science, as well as a few other experienced Christian Scientists, most from before 1960. Most segments are between 10 and 20 minutes in length. I've broken the talks up this way to accommodate people's busy lives. If you need to know where to start, I suggest Bicknell Young's "Reflection: Man Made God's Image" at the bottom of this page. To make it easier to choose which segments of these addresses to listen to ─ or to help you locate something you've heard before ─ I've started writing summaries of each segment. So far, there are summaries for each segment of all the Kilpatrick addresses, plus two of Merriman's addresses (click here). Also note that the printed versions of these addresses are available from The Bookmark, www.thebookmark.com Latest news: Martha Wilcox' address of 1941 ("What is War") has compelling insights into how Christian Scientists can think and pray effectively about war. Not surprisingly, they seem particularly relevant to the war in Ukraine. Especially interesting are her ideas about how a Scientist should work when they are far removed from the actual fighting. You'll find these ideas in the third segment below.
