On March 23, 2020, we were all just beginning to cope with the pandemic. It came to me that I could offer a gift to those who use my website to help them deal with what seemed, to human sense, a chaotic and stressful situation. I offered to send a recording of a sacred solo from the Vocal Works Solo Bank directly to their email inbox – a new one every day, complete with the words of the solo. Hundreds of those on my email list accepted the offer, and, for those who wanted to keep the music coming, I continued the daily service for 830 days – through July 1, 2022. Although I’m sure that some of you are pleased with the changes underway in our society, I’m sure many are dismayed by them and in need of support. I want to help, and, as with the Inspirational Song of the Day in 2020-22, the best I can offer is solo music. We get inspiration from the thousands of solos that are presented in our churches on Sunday mornings, but what about the rest of the week? Accordingly, on February 1st I resumed the Inspirational Song of the Day service for those who would value this supplement to their daily prayer and study. My emphasis is on music that is comforting, strengthening, and reassuring – with messages from the Bible and from lyricists who write from a Christian Science perspective, as well as many other inspired writers.
