Transpositions
and Solo Reductions.
Susan works exclusively by e-mail, and she responds to most
requests for her services within 24 or 48 hours. When providing
transpositions or solo reductions of published music, Susan is careful to abide by the
limitations of copyright law. Accordingly, she insists on the
following procedure:
- Purchase of Original Music. The requestor must own 2
copies of the music in question, unless the music is not copyrighted
or out of copyright. In the case of contemporary choral music,
this means purchasing copies of the music from the publisher, even
though they may require a minimum purchase of many more than 2
copies. (Click
here for guidance on acquiring the choral arrangements.)
- Place the Request. Susan has many hundreds of musical
scores from all periods in her computer, so it will usually be
unnecessary to send her originals. Instead, specify the key or
new range requested for the music.
- Delivery. The processed music will arrive in your e-mail
inbox in the form of a PDF, usually within a couple of days.
Accompanying it will be an invoice which you may pay by PayPal, by
Zelle or by check. You will find the charge for this service
to be surprisingly modest.
