When I was elected First Reader in my home church in Roseville in 2009, I felt that my exploration of CS solo music would be put on hold for 3 years. Then the thought came to me to ask the Executive Board of the Grass Valley church (where I had been singing once a month since 2003), if I could hold special recording sessions there with my regular accompanist, Tom Barr. They and a succession of boards agreed, with the result that I have been able to carry out biweekly recording sessions ─ without charge ─ in this beautiful, resonant church with its magnificent organ for the past 13 years. I thank all the members of this church, past and present, for this extraordinary gift to me and to all the CS churches and soloists who use the Solo Bank.
